So far, 11 million have appeared on the market. In March 2018, Ariel Gabizon - an employee of the Cash Company, found a protocol error that allowed the production of counterfeit coins. He immediately informed his employer, Zooko Wilkox, of this fact. The bug was secretly removed when updating the zCash network under the name "Spaling". The update took place in October 2019. Thanks to it, the efficiency of the zCash network has been improved and transaction protection has been increased. In 2019, zCash changed its name to Electric Coin Company. In 2020, the company announced the founding of a non-profit organization called the "Bootstrap Project".
